Next steps of Dead Sector
Greetings from the depths of the Sector, hope you are well and healthy!
We want to give you a small update about the next steps of the Dead Sector project!
Now to the latest Update: We updated some core features of our Sci-Fi-Soulslike, which will boost the performance of some GPUs. We also updated the Bloodtexture and have now a high quality setting as alternative. We will change some things in the future, based on your feedback.

NEWS
In the past months we worked on the concept of our game and also applied for the a local prototype funding program in Hamburg/Germany. We have been thinking about the best way to improve Dead Sector in the future and have come to the conclusion that we will reboot the game with the granted funding! ;) Here are the changes and additions we've planned for the next iteration of the Sector and the Design Pillars that guide us:
Design pillars:
- Combat Survival (hard but satisfing)
- Risk & Reward (your choices should matter in a good, bad and ugly way)
- Replayability
Changes at a glance:
- Different weapons and therefore new game styles
- Expanding the World with a changing Levelsystem
- Complete revision of the upgrade system
- A safe haven for upgrading the Character and changing equipment
- More interactions, such as challenges and more.
For the creation of the features we will rebuilt Dead Sector from the ground up. Of course, this will delay the production initially, but it's needed to improve the Sector IP to a higher quality standard. Once the basics are in place, such as the combat and different systems (weapon, upgrade, enemy, etc.), we can fully concentrate on adding new content.
Sadly this also means that we will no longer be able to provide regular updates for our demo on itch.io. Instead we will focus all our energy on creating the actual game and keep you updated throughout the whole process. In the last year we have been working a lot on the game design and came up with a bunch of ideas that we want to explore. Due to the experiences with the last prototype we can try out these new ideas much faster.
